Note I don't want a playlist of the entire catalog of the Doobie Brothers - I don't want more than 3-4 songs from any one artist, though the rules aren't hard and fast. Mostly, these are songs that would have gotten radio play back in the day. There are some straight soft-rock songs and then some cross-over from other genres (country, soul, jazz, etc.). I'll give a flavor to the kind of play list I'm thinking of by starting it off with songs I've included for one reason or another. As much as I love them, this is not a play list for Led Zeppelin, Boston, Pink Floyd or Rush. However, I was alive during all of the 1970s and certain songs trigger memories, so my latest music project is to try to build a play list of songs from that era. I don't have a lot of this music in my collection, favoring some of the harder rock of the 1970s and a wide variety in the 1980s and beyond.
